Diversity & Inclusion

Building a caring and inclusive live experience together

At be•at, we’re committed to creating an event industry where everyone feels welcome, safe, and seen. We believe that culture, music, and live experiences should never be reserved for a select audience, but rather serve as a bridge connecting people of all ages, backgrounds, and beliefs.

Accessibility

Everyone should be able to enjoy a concert or show without barriers. That’s why we strive to guide and support visitors with disabilities as best as we can, ensuring they have an unforgettable time.

For people with physical disabilities

All our venues offer wheelchair spaces and companion seats, adapted entrances, and accessible restrooms. Where possible, we also provide wheelchair lifts and assistive tools for people with hearing impairments, such as induction loops or FM systems.

For people with autism

But we look beyond physical accessibility. For our theaters, we collaborate with Toerisme voor Autisme.

  • On the theater websites, visitors can download a visual step-by-step guide to help them prepare for their visit.

  • Each theater has a sensory toolkit, including items like fidget toys and noise-reducing headphones. You can borrow these by showing your ticket.

  • For most shows popular with children, a sensory guide is available on the website. It gives an overview of the sensory stimuli you may experience during the show.

Making culture accessible for people with a low income

As a partner of VRIJUIT, we offer tickets for many of our shows at a significantly reduced price. In this way, together with VRIJUIT, we give thousands of people with a limited budget the opportunity to attend cultural and sports events every year.

Free menstrual products

A woman with blonde hair, dressed in a white shirt, takes a sanitary pad from a red dispenser labeled 'RedLocker', mounted on a white tiled wall.

In all our venues, you’ll find dispensers with free tampons and pads. They’re there for visitors who unexpectedly get their period. At the same time, we want to break the taboo around menstruation and contribute to gender equality. Moreover, the products are made from 100% organic cotton and are free from chemicals.

YOUCA Action Day

Two smiling girls stand with their arms outstretched on a stage in the AFAS Dome. They are dressed casually. The venue is empty and the stands are dark, while the stage and the girls are lit by bright lights.

Every year, we take part in the YOUCA Action Day, where secondary school students spend one day working in a company. This way, they get to know the ins and outs of how we operate. The salary they earn on that school day goes to projects led by engaged young people around the world.

Hijabis at Work

In our recruitment approach, we also take steps toward greater representation and equal opportunities. We post our job openings on platforms such as Hijabis at Work, a job database aimed at women who wear a headscarf and often face barriers in their job search. With this initiative, we want to actively contribute to a more diverse labor market and show that talent does not depend on appearance or religion.
