Governance

Our responsibility

As part of Live Nation and as the operator of some of the most visited concert and theater venues in Belgium, be•at carries a clear responsibility. We are at the heart of society and want to offer not only a place for live experiences but also guarantee transparency, reliability, and accountability in everything we do.

Sustainability and responsible business

As the global leader in live entertainment, Live Nation is actively committed to creating a positive impact on people and the planet. Be•at fully supports the short-, medium-, and long-term objectives outlined in the Live Nation Charter. A dedicated team brings together all sustainability managers from Live Nation across Europe and the United Kingdom to actively facilitate achieving these goals.

be•at Earth: A multidisciplinary committee

Sustainability is deeply embedded at be•at in the broadest sense of the word. With be•at Earth, we have an internal committee that brings together employees from different teams and disciplines. Each member approaches the topic of sustainability from their own expertise—ranging from technical and logistics to communication and hospitality. This creates a widely supported vision and ensures that concrete actions are aligned with daily operations in our venues.

The committee meets regularly to exchange experiences, discuss new ideas, and evaluate ongoing projects. Thanks to this multidisciplinary approach, we can quickly respond to current challenges and opportunities, ensuring that sustainability is an integral part of our business operations.

Collaboration with European venues

In addition, we encourage cross-pollination with other European Live Nation venues. Through digital sessions and an annual live meeting, we share best practices, inspiring examples, and innovative solutions. This way, we learn from each other and strengthen our impact at an international level.

Sustainability projects in the venues: the role of the sustainability assistant

At Forest National, we have a dedicated sustainability assistant who coordinates and monitors all sustainability projects in the venue. This role is essential for implementing concrete improvements, tracking results, and motivating colleagues. Over time, this position will also be extended to other be•at venues, ensuring that sustainability becomes an integral part of both policy and daily operations everywhere.

Green Charter as a foundation, local autonomy as a strength

The Live Nation Charter for Ecological Sustainability forms the basis of our sustainability policy. At the same time, there is significant local autonomy and room for local initiatives. Each venue can respond to its own context, needs, and possibilities, ensuring that sustainability is not just a top-down approach but also embraced by people on the ground.

The Live Nation Charter for Ecological Sustainability includes, among others, the following sustainability objectives:

  • Reducing our ecological footprint and inspiring others to do the same

  • A significant reduction in our CO₂ emissions, in line with the Paris Climate Agreement

  • Maximizing the use of renewable energy for all venues, offices, and festivals

  • Strong focus on waste reduction, reuse, and recycling

  • Eliminating single-use plastics and opting for sustainable alternatives

  • Providing access to quality drinking water and innovating in water reuse

  • Collaborating with suppliers who uphold high animal welfare standards and minimizing food waste

  • Transparent communication about sustainability goals and active involvement of fans, artists, and partners

  • Promoting sustainable mobility for visitors, artists, and suppliers

  • Respecting local ecology and communities, supporting local charities, and creating employment opportunities

  • Ensuring the well-being of employees and visitors

  • Annual reporting and transparent management through environmental management systems

Policy and governance

Live Nation and be•at place great importance on strong governance. Internally, strict policies apply regarding privacy, anti-corruption, cybersecurity, and other essential topics. This ensures we operate transparently, ethically, and responsibly, safeguarding the interests of visitors, employees, and partners. It makes our organization both sustainable and trustworthy.
